Night of 1000 lights at Trojaburg Uckersdorf

The Trojaburg Uckersdorf is located in Markt Schwarzhofen in the Upper Palatinate at the so-called "Radlerbahnhof Schwarzhofen" near Uckersdorf .

Off the state road 2040 , between Schwarzhofen and Altendorf, a little northeast of Zangenstein and right next to the Bavarian-Bohemian Friendship Cycle Path (foot and cycle path on the disused railway line between Nabburg and Oberviechtach), work began in 2006 under the direction of Gerhard Würl, to design a Troy castle.

A walk-in labyrinth with a diameter of around 18 m and a length of around 250 m was created using broken stones and field stones from the area . In the middle of the maze is a large central stone.

The labyrinth is entered through a gate made of large granite columns , which also come from the area.

According to the wish of the builder, the visitors should take a stone with them from a pile of stones that is located next to the entrance and put it down on the way to the central stone, so the path boundaries should become higher and higher over the years.

Every year around the time of the summer solstice a small celebration is held by the Kulturförderkreis Schwarzhofen, at which the visitors are informed about the meaning and background of a Troy castle. After sunset, a procession of visitors sets in motion, illuminating the course of the labyrinth with tea lights .
