Trophozoite

As a trophozoite (v. Greek. Τροφος Trophos , food 'and ζοον Zoon , animal') or trophont is the vegetative stage of life of adult protists called, that is, the way of life in which protists in metabolic exchange live with their environment, so do not multiply .

The term is trophont of protozoologists preferably ciliates applied (ciliates), the term trophozoite contrast to non-ciliate parasites.
