The Truchseß von Wilburgstetten , Truchseß von Rechenberg and Truchseß von Limburg families were a Franconian noble family .

history

The Truchsess von Rechenberg family named themselves after Rechenberg Castle near Stimpfach and were ministerial families in the service of the Counts of Oettingen and held the court office of Truchsess for generations (see also Truchseß (title of nobility) ). A prominent representative of the family was the Eichstätter Bishop Raban Truchseß von Wilburgstetten († 1383).

According to Siglinde Buchner, the family line appears in sources with different names: Truchseß von Rechenberg (1238–1269), Truchseß von Sinbronn (1262–1270) and Truchseß von Limburg (1273–1406). From the Truchseß von Limburg the line of the Truchseß von Warberg (1331-1360), then Truchseß von Wald (1360-1363) and the line of the Truchseß von Wilburgstetten (1311-1405) were formed.

Jakob Truchsess von Wilburgstetten († 1405), married to Anna, b. von Hornstein, bequeathed his castles Rechenberg (near Stimpfach) and Limburg and his share in Wilburgstetten to his brother-in-law Erkinger von Rechenberg, married to Elsbeth, born in 1398 before the Nuremberg Regional Court, since he had no descendants. from Hornstein. In the will, Jakob named his brother-in-law with the familiar address "cousin". Erkinger von Rechenberg, who sat at Rechenberg on the Hahnenkamm, sold these goods on to Burgrave Friedrich von Nürnberg.

coat of arms

The talking coat of arms shows a rake on a red background. The crest shows a rooster. A tribal relationship to the von Rechenberg family is suggested by the same coat of arms, but according to Siglinde Buchner it is not genealogically verifiable, nor are there any connections between the possessions.
