The True Hills are up to 850 m high and rocky hills in the East Antarctic Coatsland . In the Shackleton Range they rise 1.5 km southeast of the Wiggans Hills and mark the northeastern end of the La Grange Nunatakker .
Aerial photographs were taken in 1967 by the United States Navy . The British Antarctic Survey conducted surveys between 1968 and 1971. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1972 after the British geodesist Anthony True (* 1945), who worked from 1968 to 1970 at Halley Station and in the meantime in the Shackleton Range.
