Robby Schlund (born February 19, 1967 in Gera ) is a German doctor , politician ( AfD ) and a member of the German Bundestag since 2017 .

Life and work

Schlund passed his Abitur in 1985 and was from 1986 to 1989 a temporary officer (OHS Land Forces " Ernst Thälmann ") for missile technology in the NVA . In 1996 Schlund completed his studies in human medicine at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena and received his doctorate in 2015 with Magna cum laude on the standardization of capillary microscopic examinations in angiology . In 2017, Schlund completed his degree in manual medicine as an Ayurveda doctor and worked from 2003 to 2011 as a ward doctor at the spa clinic in Bad Lobenstein , later as head physician at a health club in Gera. As a specialist in orthopedics and sports medicine , he opened a practice in Gera in 2006. After this was absorbed in the medical care center of the SRH Wald-Klinikum in 2011 , he left in 2017 and opened his own private orthopedic practice in Gera. Schlund participated in several medical projects;

  • 2007 Co-establishment of the German Society for Adaptive Therapies e. V.

In addition, Schlund gave international lectures in Germany, India, Russia and the USA.

Schlund is married for the second time, has three children (two from the first marriage) and lives in Wünschendorf / Elster . His wife is of Russian descent.

Schlund was temporarily a member of the FDP , but resigned after a corruption affair involving a local politician from Gera, who was sentenced to imprisonment in 2008.

Shortly after the party was founded, Schlund joined the AfD in 2013. According to his own statement, the economist and AfD co-founder Joachim Starbatty , whom he had seen in a lecture in Moscow in 2012, was the decisive factor for his interest in the party. Schlund has been a member of the AfD's state board in Thuringia since 2016.

For the 2017 federal election , he was elected to the German Bundestag from fourth place on the AfD state list. He also ran as a direct candidate in the Gera - Greiz - Altenburger Land constituency and received 27.3% of the first votes. In the election campaign, he confessed to the party wing around Alexander Gauland and Björn Höcke . Since 2018, Schlund has been a member of the Subcommittee on Disarmament, Arms Control and Non-Proliferation and as deputy spokesman for the AfD parliamentary group in the Committee on Health of the German Bundestag.
