The Central Training Area (also called Radom Training Area) was planned from the beginning of 1940 in the area around the central Polish town of Radom . The actual construction began on September 15, 1940. Its establishment is in connection with the construction of a total of three large training areas for the German Wehrmacht in occupied Poland. These training areas are the northern military training area near Mielau , the central military training area near Radom and the southern military training area near Mielec . The training area covered an area of several hundred square kilometers and was one of the very large military training areas of the German Wehrmacht. The practice area was used in particular to practice large-scale combat between combined weapons and strong armored units. So-called alien units were also set up on the military training area. These were mostly composed of members of ethnic minorities from the Soviet Union . So were on the practice site z. B. Units made up of tartars . Thousands of Poles had to evacuate their homes to set up the practice area . The extent to which forced laborers were used in the construction of the square has not yet been conclusively clarified.

The area of the military training area was bounded in the west by the main road Bialobrzegi – Jedlinsk, in the north by the road Bialobrzegi –Glowaczow in the south and east it followed the course of the Radomka river.

A very large troop camp was built in a wooded area near the village of Bierwce, east of the Radom - Warsaw railway line . The buildings mostly consisted of wooden barracks. In the vicinity of the military training area there was also a camp for Soviet prisoners of war.

On July 1, 1943, these administrative districts and all of their municipalities merged within the military training area in the middle to form the Radom military estate .
