The Massengutschiffstyp Kamsarmax Bulk Carrier , shortly KAMSARMAXBC the Japanese shipbuilding company Tsuneishi was built in a series of over 200 units.

details

The Kamsarmax bulk carrier range was designed by Tsuneishi Shipbuilding in the early 2000s. Model testing began in 2002, construction of the first ship began in 2004 and its delivery in February 2005. Since then, over 200 units of the type in four construction variants (Mk. 1 to Mk. 4) have been delivered to the Group's own shipyards in Japan, China and were built in the Philippines for various shipping companies. In the field of bulk carriers with carrying capacities between 80,000 and 84,000 tons, the Tsuneishi Kamsarmax ships are considered to be one of the standard ships with a market share of 28% .

The ships are as Kamsarmax - bulk carriers with aft mounted constructions designed. Due to their dimensions, the units are specially designed for the transport of bauxite from Kamsar , but can also transport various other bulk goods such as grain, coal and minerals. The tank roof of the cargo hold is reinforced for the transport of ore. In addition, bagged goods, steel profiles, tubes and other bulk cargo can be transported, but no deck loads. They have seven cargo holds , each with its own hatch, the hatch covers of which are hydraulically operated to open at the side . The ships do not have their own loading gear . The first variant of the ship type had a carrying capacity of around 70,000 tons and was improved several times, particularly in terms of carrying capacity, volume and fuel consumption. The current construction variant can transport around 81,600 tonnes with a draft of 14.40 m and has a total loading space of 97,000 m³ for bulk goods.

The ships are powered by a two - stroke diesel engine . The engine enables a speed of around 14.5  knots . Several auxiliary diesels and an emergency diesel generator are available.
