Tsuneo Niijima ( Japanese 新 島 恒 男 , Niijima Tsuneo ; * 1955 ) is a Japanese amateur astronomer and asteroid explorer.
Between 1986 and 1995 he discovered a total of 32 asteroids , most of them together with Takeshi Urata . Together with this he discovered the periodic comet 112P / Urata-Niijima on October 30, 1986
The asteroid (5507) Niijima was named after him.
