Takeshi Urata
Takeshi Urata ( Japanese 浦 田 武 , Urata Takeshi ; * 1947 ; † December 15, 2012 ) was a Japanese astronomer .
Urata was one of Japan's most active amateur astronomers and director of the minor planet section of the Oriental Astronomical Association . He discovered numerous asteroids , especially at the Nihondaira Observatory . He was also a co-discoverer of the periodic comet 112P / Urata-Niijima .
The asteroid (3722) Urata was named after him.
