(3585) Goshirakawa is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 28 January 1987 by the Japanese astronomer Tsuneo Niijima and Takeshi Urata at the observatory in Ōta ( IAU code 887) in the Japanese prefecture of Gunma was discovered.

The asteroid was named after Go-Shirakawa (1127-1192), the 77th Tennō of Japan , who, as the successor to his father Toba, continued the monastic rule established by this ( insei ) until his death in 1192.
