Tuğrul Ansay

Tuğrul Ansay (born November 16, 1930 in Ankara ) is a German legal scholar of Turkish origin. He lived in Hamburg for many years and now lives in Istanbul .

He made his academic career primarily at the Ankara Faculty of Law , where, as a full professor, he mainly taught Turkish commercial and corporate law. He also lived for many years in Hamburg, where he attended the universities of Hamburg , the Turkish law taught. He was dean of the Koç University in Istanbul for several years.

In 1974 he published ten articles on the topic of guest workers in society and law in Germany as a book. He brought Turkish law closer to international jurisprudence through the "Introduction to Turkish" published in the 6th edition in 2011, which he edited together with Don Wallace. Numerous other articles, in particular on research into immigration and asylum law, have appeared in handbooks, festivals and magazines. Two commemorative publications in German and Turkish are dedicated to his 75th birthday.

For more than 30 years, Ansay was a managing board member of the German-Turkish Lawyers Association, which he co-founded . V. and is now its honorary chairman.
