The TuS Ascota Chemnitz is a German sports club based in Chemnitz , the football department existed until 1997th Home was the sports field on Dittersdorfer Strasse (demolished in 1997) in the Fritz-Heckert area . The association has over 350 members in the sports billiards, volleyball, gymnastics, ice skating, walking and winter sports.

Ascota Chemnitz was founded after 1945 under the name BSG Motor Astra Chemnitz , later the name was changed to BSG Motor Astra Karl-Marx-Stadt due to the name change of the city . The BSG initially appeared in the Chemnitz local area. From 1965 the BSG played as Motor Ascota Karl-Marx-Stadt , the carrier company was the VEB Booking Machine Works Karl-Marx-Stadt . With the new name and the accession of the previously dissolved BSG Motor West Karl-Marx-Stadt , the sporting success came. In 1973 the team rose to the district league. They stayed there for four years before winning the district championship again in 1977. For many years, Ascota was the third strongest football team in Chemnitz , behind FC Karl-Marx-Stadt and Motor “Fritz Heckert” . This was followed by an interplay between the GDR and the district league, until Motor Ascota finally relegated to the district league in 1982. When the formation of independent clubs became possible after German reunification, members of the previous company sports association founded the TuS Ascota Chemnitz club in 1990 . The football department immediately played a modest role and only had a sense of achievement in 1994 when it won the district championship.
In 1997, Ascota merged with the second club in the Chemnitz city park , the BSC Altchemnitz (formerly Motor Modul KMST) to form the Altchemnitzer BSC 97 and, after several consecutive promotions, achieved participation in the State League of Saxony . Due to another merger with Rapid Kappel (formerly BSG Chemie KMST), the association has been merged into BSC Rapid Chemnitz since 2001 .
