TuS St. Arnold

The TuS St. Arnold is a sports club based in the town of Neuenkirchen ( Kreis Steinfurt ) in the district of St. Arnold , where the sports football , karate , tennis , table tennis and gymnastics are exercised.

The karatekas that have produced several German masters in the senior and youth field are successful on a national and international level. TuS St. Arnold belonged to the Karate Bundesliga until it was dissolved in 2002. The club is one of the few so successful in which the Gōjū-Ryū style is practiced.

Entrance area to the Sepp Herberger Stadium

The club's Sepp Herberger stadium was inaugurated in 1968 by the former national soccer coach in person and in the presence of Helmut Rahn , Bernd Trautmann and Berni Klodt . It is at the end of Sepp-Herberger-Straße in St. Arnold. The club area includes several sports fields, tennis courts and the club house.

The first football team will play in the 2017/18 season in the district league A, the second team in the district league B and the third team in the district league C.

Successful athletes

Ulrich Heckhuis, one of nine trainers, is the second highest in the Gōjū-Ryū style in Germany with a seventh dan . Günter Woltering is the bearer of the sixth dan, seven other karatekas bear the fourth or fifth dan. Ludger Niemann, regional coach of North Rhine-Westphalia, is also a member of the club.
