Tubabkollon Point

The Cape Tubabkollon Point (writing style: Tubab Kollon Point ) in the West African country Gambia is located in the River Gambia on the southern river bank some 100 kilometers from the mouth into the Atlantic Ocean away. The landmark is seven kilometers from Tendaba and can be reached from there on foot or by boat.

Tubabkollon Point is located in Kiang West National Park in the northeast of the nature reserve, which is well suited for wildlife viewing . For example, warthogs , bushbucks and sitatungas can be seen next to Guinea baboons at the waterhole.

history

There used to be a Portuguese trading base at this point , the name Tubab Kollon is loosely translated as " White Man's Fountain " ( Toubab = white man ).
