Tunilla erectoclada is a species of plant in the genus Tunilla from the cactus family(Cactaceae).

Tunilla erectoclada grows crawling with blue-green to bright green, narrow triangular to tongue-shaped shoot segments that stand upright when young . They are clearly bumpy and up to 6 inches long. There are up to 140 closely spaced areoles on them . The 4 to 7 thorns emerging from them are bent back and lie against the surface of the shoot or spread out. They are 4 to 10 millimeters long.

The flowers are reddish orange to carmine red. Your elongated pericarpel is bumpy and bristly.

Distribution, systematics and endangerment

Tunilla erectoclada is common in the Argentine province of Salta . The first description as Opuntia erectoclada was in 1936 by Curt Backeberg . In 2000 David Richard Hunt and James Iliff placed them in the genus Tunilla . A synonym is tunilla picardoi D.R.Hunt & Iliff .

In the Red List of Threatened Species of the IUCN , the species is called " Data Deficient (DD) ", i. H. with insufficient data. The future development of the populations is unknown.
