Tunng are an English Folktronica - band .

Band history

Tunng was founded as a project by Mike Lindsay and Sam Genders, who originally produced music for commercials and soft porn. The result was a two-piece band who developed their own style of music from folk, rock and electronic and worked together with various musicians. From 2004 they released several singles and in 2005 their debut album Mother's Daughter and Other Songs . It was also released in the US a year later.

Since Genders initially did not want to perform live, Tunng was expanded to include more permanent members. The albums Comments of the Inner Chorus (2006) and Good Arrows (2007) followed.

This was followed by a break from the band, during which the musicians devoted themselves to other projects that they had besides Tunng, and then intensive tours. Genders finally withdrew from the band and on stage and through the collaboration with Ben Bickerton as a copywriter, a new distribution of roles and a new style developed. It was not until 2010 that they finished their fourth album, And Then We Saw Land . For the first time they also made it into the UK charts.
