Brian D'Amato

Brian D'Amato is an American author, journalist, lecturer, and sculptor . He is the son of the crime novelist Barbara D'Amato .

In the 1990s, D'Amato's sculptures were exhibited in international galleries and museums, including the Whitney Museum , the Wexner Center for the Arts and the New Museum of Contemporary Art . D'Amato also works as a journalist for Vogue and other magazines and has taught art and art history at the City University of New York , Ohio State University and Yale University , where he previously studied.

His 1992 novel “The Beauty Prize”, a thriller about cosmetic surgery, has been translated into several languages ​​and nominated for the Bram Stoker Award . His international breakthrough came with the novel "2012 - The End of All Times", published in 2009, the first part of a three-volume apocalyptic thriller .

The next volume, entitled “2012 - Day of Prophecy”, was due to appear in German translation in February 2011, but the manuscript was not finished in time and the novel was postponed indefinitely. The book was published in England in May and in Germany in July.
