Tuntenhaus

Under the name Tuntenhaus there were several alternative house projects organized by gays , lesbians and transgender people in various cities, which were used both as communal living space and for occasional cultural events.

The best-known and only existing project with this name is the second Tuntenhaus in Berlin , which has been in existence since 1990, and which moved to Kastanienallee 86 in Prenzlauer Berg after the mainzer Strasse was cleared . There was a first tune house in Berlin in the 1980s. In addition, there was DerDieDas Tuntenhaus at Tavelweg 26 in Bern , which was founded in 1994 and emerged from the performance group DerDieDas , the Tuntenhaus in Bremen and the Tantenhaus in Geneva .

A similar housing project is the Black Canal in Berlin, a site for a construction trailer home inhabited by lesbians and transgender people .
