Tuoni is a Finnish metal band from Lahti that was formed in 2003.

history

The band was founded at the end of summer 2003 by musician friends who were friends. Without rehearsing beforehand, the band went to the recording studio to record the songs written by bassist Tuomas Leinonen. Almost a year later, the single Ruusut Helvetin was released by Loud Music , which reached number ten in the Finnish single charts. At this point in time, the group had not yet made an appearance. The release of the debut album was originally planned for autumn 2004, but was delayed. The nine songs were recorded, mixed and mastered over several months at the end of 2004, after which Elävät & Kuolleet was released in February 2005. The single Pois Minusta , released in the same year, reached twelfth place in the Finnish charts. Tuoni then went on tour until July 2006, before work on the next album began, with drummer and singer Aksu Hanttu in particular writing the songs. In autumn 2006 demo recordings of some songs were made before the recordings for the album began in the Grooveland Studios in the late winter of 2007 . The band then went on tour with the live drummer Heikki Saari. The album was released in 2007 under the name Tuli Kulkee on Ranka Recordings , which Kuolonpyörä joined in 2014 through Playground Music Finland .
