Tupinambarana is a river island in the Amazonas and Uraria rivers in the Brazilian state of Amazonas . With an area of 11,850 km², it is one of the largest river islands on earth.

The island is largely covered by tropical rainforest and has a low mountain ridge, it can only be entered by water or air. On the island is the town of Parintins , which is known for the festival " Bumba-meu-boi ". The island also has remains of a 1930s settlement built by Japanese settlers trying to grow jute on the island .
