Turgai plateau

The Turgai Plateau is a plateau in the Aqtöbe area in north-western Kazakhstan . The plateau is about 600 kilometers wide and 200 kilometers long.

The area lies between the southern Urals , the Kazakh threshold and the Mugodschar Mountains .

The plateau is known for rich deposits of iron ore and other minerals . The landscape is characterized by gorges and lakes that are ideal for fishing.
