Raw material deposits
Natural resources are called in mining , in the Geology and Geography , known reserves of mineral and other raw materials .
General
In contrast to the deposit , deposits are not worth building . "If the building quality limit is not reached, one speaks of an occurrence". Therefore, mining only takes place at deposits. However, this distinction does not have to be permanent. If one or more evaluation criteria of the building quality change, a deposit can be transformed into a deposit or a deposit can fall below the building quality limit. For example, the rising price of gold has meant that even very deep gold deposits in South Africa have become worthwhile because some gold mines could be operated economically as a result . In mining law , raw material deposits are referred to as natural resources .
species
As raw materials z. B. ore and semi-metal deposits, natural gas fields, coal seams , salt domes or bulk raw materials .
Other uses
In general geography and economic geography , the term sometimes also includes the entirety of all raw materials occurring in a country . This includes B. also fish or wood. As reserves are considered resources , the proven and currently technically and economically viable. A larger part of the resources consists of proven, but currently technically and economically not recoverable deposits. Using them would be uneconomical, i.e. not economically viable, and will not be available for the time being.
