The Turisthytta refers to both a post-war building in the functionalist style and a lookout point on the ridge of Rønvikfjell in Bodø . At the same place there was a wooden house built by the Bodø Hiking Association as a managed refuge between 1890 and 1962 . A paved road has been leading up since 1929. The currently vacant building was previously used as a café and was last used for three months as a pop-up restaurant as part of the celebrations for the city's 200th anniversary in 2016.

When the building was bought by a business community in 2004, it was to be expanded to become a center for the observation and documentation of sea eagles . After these plans failed, a hotel complex is to be built there after a change of ownership in 2007. It turned out in 2013 that the five apartments in the house should not have been rented because the building was only used for commercial purposes. The tenants at the time were asked to move out under threat of fines. The plans to build a hotel - and thus to demolish the gradually crumbling building - are currently (2016) still in place.

From the hill (between 140 and 150 meters above sea level ) there is a good view to the south, west and north. It also allows you to observe the midnight sun between June 4th and July 8th. The hill is one of the most popular excursion destinations in Bodø, has large parking areas and thus makes the 2.6 km long ascent to Keiservarden easy .
