Errard played from 1982 to 1985 on the ITF Junior Tour and reached the quarter-finals at the junior tournaments of the Australian Open and the Wimbledon Championships in 1984. His first success on the ATP Tour was 1986 in his native Metz , where he and his partner Éric Winogradsky advanced to the semi-finals. At the side of Mima Jaušovec he reached the second round of the French Open in mixed. In later years he was mainly on the ATP Challenger Tour . He was with Thierry Champion in 1989 at the ATP tournament in Athensin the semifinals. From 1991 Errard was mainly in the lower class satellite tournament series. After a break between 1992 and 1996, he took part in future tournaments irregularly and with little success until 2011.
He reached his highest ranking in the tennis world rankings in 1987 with position 531 in singles and 1989 with position 229 in doubles. His best individual result in a Grand Slam tournament was participation in the main field of the French Open in 1983 and 1984. In the doubles competition and in mixed, he also reached the second round there in 1986.
