TurkmenÄlem 52E (also TürkmenÄlem or MonacoSat ) is the first commercial communications satellite of the Turkmen Ministry of Communications. It is operated in conjunction with Monaco Space Systems International and SES from Luxembourg.

It was on April 27, 2015 23:03 UTC with a Falcon 9 - launcher from the launch complex 40 of the Cape Canaveral AFS into a geostationary brought orbit.

The three-axis stabilized satellite was built on the basis of the Spacebus 4000C2 satellite bus from Thales Alenia Space and has a planned service life of 15 years. It is supposed to provide telecommunication services to Europe, Asia, North Africa and the Middle East from position 52 ° East .

Transponder

The satellite is equipped with 48 Ku-band - transponders equipped. Other data speak of 38 active Ku-band transponders. TurkmenÄlem has 3 beams. The Turkmen Ministry of Communications uses 26 transponders; the remaining 12 TPs in the Middle East and North Africa were read SES.

Beams:

  • Ku-Band Ost-Beam
  • Ku band MENA beam
  • Ku-Band West-Beam

The east and west beams do not differ in terms of their east-west extension. Both cover Northwest, Central and Southeast Europe as well as a strip from Turkey to Turkmenistan. The Westbeam can also be received north of the mentioned areas (with the exception of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug and the island of Novaya Zemlya in Russia).

Since the launch of the satellite, seven state television channels (exclusively in HD) and four radios have been broadcast on the West Beam. One of the television channels is Türkmenistan Sport, which broadcasts martial arts and European football in unencrypted form .
