Turun Urheiluliitto

Turun Urheiluliitto (abbreviated TuUL; German Turkuer Sportvereinigung) is a sports club from Turku , Finland, founded in 1901 . There are club teams for cross-country skiing , bowling , volleyball , ice skating , boxing , cycling , triathlon , gymnastics and athletics .

Paavo Nurmi is considered to be the club's most successful athlete . The long-distance runner, who won nine gold medals at the Olympic Games in the 1920s, joined the club as a teenager and remained a member until the end of his life. The club also had the following Olympic medalists: Hannes Kolehmainen , Harri Larva , Raimo Heinonen , Veikko Karvonen and Kaisa Parviainen .
