TwinMesh

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

TwinMesh is software for the automatic creation of structured computation grids for the rotating flow volumes of rotating displacement machines , which change with each time step, such as gear pumps , rotary lobe pumps , screw compressors , scroll compressors or gerotor pumps. The resulting computational grid made of TwinMesh enables time-dependent (transient) numerical flow simulations to be carried out with the CFD software from ANSYS for these types of machines.

In contrast to other simulation approaches such as automatic unstructured re-networking for each time step or the use of overlapping computation grids, the calculation approach based on structured computation grids does not encounter numerical limits due to the frequent interpolation of calculation results between computation grids or restrictions due to the unavailability of certain physical models such as compressibility, multiphase or turbulence with overlapping grids.
