Tylecodon torulosus is a species of the genus Tylecodon in the family of the thick-leaf plants (Crassulaceae).

description

Tylecodon torulosus grows as a small and sparsely branched plant with ascending, plump shoots and is up to 25 centimeters high. The grayish, white shoots arise from a bulbous base with a diameter of up to 25 centimeters. The shoots, which are up to 3 centimeters thick at the base, taper to 5 millimeters at the end of the shoots and form thickened nodes. Depending on the location, the shoots can be up to 30 centimeters long hanging over rock faces. The gray and smooth bark peels off in flakes on older shoots. The leaves are spread out and close to the shoot tips and are 2.5 to 4 centimeters long and 1.3 to 2.2 centimeters wide. They are egg-shaped to spatulate, sometimes also 3-lobed and have a wedge-shaped base. The blade of the gray to yellowish green leaves is flat. They have a blunt or pointed tip that is often bent back.

The short inflorescence consists of rounded, almost sessile thyrses with 2 to 5 monochasias , each bearing 1 to 3 upright flowers. The inflorescence stalk becomes 2 to 3 millimeters long. The stalk of the single flowers is 3 to 5 millimeters long. The tubular corolla covered with glandular hairs is 18 to 23 millimeters long and 5 millimeters in diameter. It is yellowish green in color and the 5 millimeter wide and spread out tips are later bent back.
