Tylopsis is agenus of locusts from the subfamily of sickle hornets (Phaneropterinae).
features
The paranota (the laterally drawn down lobes of the pronotum ) are longer than high and form an angle with the flat upper side (the discus). The well-developed pairs of wings are parapter (that is, the hind wings are in rest position over the forewings). The front hips have a thorn. The eyes are long oval shaped. The links of the antennae are long. The antennae are about three to five times as long as the body. The abdomen is keeled dorsally. In the middle, the rear edge of the terga protrudes like a tooth.
Occurrence
The distribution area of the genus includes Africa, southern Europe and western Asia.
