The lily leaf sickle insect ( Tylopsis lilifolia ) belongs to the subfamily of sickle horrors (Phaneropterinae) within the suborder of long- feeler terrors .
features
The lily-leaf sickle-hedge is similar in body to other sickle-hedge species. Their legs are long and thin and have small spines on their lower legs. The antennae are longer than the body. In contrast to all other Central European sickle hornets, this one has a slit-shaped hearing organ. The wings extend far beyond the body. The basic color varies from light brown to olive green to light green. From the back of the head, over the pronotum and the base of the wings, a broad brown band with a light yellow border extends. The edge of the pronotum lobes is white to light yellow. A white line runs from the eye to the wings. There are also such lines on the wings. There is a white stripe on the inside of the thighs. The ovipositor of the female is short, high and curved upwards.
Way of life and distribution
The lily-leaf sickle-insect is often found sitting on plants. It is quite common in its area of distribution. It occurs around the Mediterranean Sea - the northern border is South Tyrol - and inhabits sunny meadows, forest edges and other landscapes with a lot of vegetation. It is widespread in Europe in Italy , Slovenia , Croatia , Bosnia and Herzegovina , Serbia and Montenegro , Macedonia - in Western Asia on the Crimean peninsula , in Georgia , Azerbaijan , Armenia and Turkey .
