The typographic monthly sheets (TM, French Revue suisse de l'imprimerie, RSI , English Swiss Typographic Magazine, STM ) were a Swiss specialist magazine for typography , writing , design and language with an international reputation. They appeared since 1933 and from 1948 had a French-speaking part in addition to the German-speaking part; often the editions also contained English-language content. Most recently, they were published by the Swiss union Syndicom (formerly the Swiss Typographers Association, union printing and paper, Comedia ) to promote vocational training in visual communication . In 2012, the WEMF- authenticated circulation was 1,001 sold or 1,282 copies. In 2014 the decision was made to stop publishing the magazine. The last issue 4/14 was dedicated to one of the greats of Swiss typography, Emil Ruder .

history

The magazine was first published in 1933 by what was then the Swiss Typographers Association. 1948 (10 years old) was Revue Suisse de l'Imprimerie (RSI) in the TM integrated and henceforth increasing French content found in the magazine. In December 1951, it was announced that the long-term competitor Schweizer Graphische Mitteilungen (SGM) would also be included and integrated. Until 1971, the part of RSI was produced separately in Lausanne in the "Imprimerie Populaires" print shop and bound together with the part of TM in St. Gallen at Zollikofer & Co. AG to form a booklet. Since issue 1 | 2012, the graphic industry (FGI) has been merged with TM and has been published four times a year from then on.
