Tytus Wojnowicz (* 1965 ) is a Polish oboist .

biography

He started playing the violin when he was 7 years old , but switched to the oboe when he was 15 . He also studied this instrument at the Music Academy in Warsaw and in Freiburg im Breisgau with Heinz Holliger . In 1989 he became a member of the Warsaw Kwintet Dęty . He played with numerous orchestras, including the Sinfonia Varsovia . In 1996 he decided to embark on a solo career in which he wanted to combine elements of classical with those of popular music. His debut album Tytus with melodies by Johannes Brahms , Frédéric Chopin , but also the pop composer Piotr Rubik received three platinum awards in Poland, and there was also a Fryderyk Award for the album, an award that he received again in 2004.

So far, Wojnowicz has released seven CDs with completely different emphases, Georg Philipp Telemann's oboe concertos stand alongside Polish hits from the 1960s and 1970s. In 2002 he played on a record of African music by Emam. In 2005 he performed with Nigel Kennedy on his tour "The Bach & Vivaldi Experience".
