The Siebenhirten station of the Vienna underground is located in the 23rd district of Liesing . It was built in an elevated position and is the southern end point of the U6 line . The station is located above Ketzergasse between Dr.-Hanswenzel-Gasse and Porschestrasse , not far from the Vienna city limits. To the west of the station is the Liesing industrial site , to the east the Wienerflur settlement .

It was opened in 1995 as part of the extension of the U6 from the Philadelphiabrücke to Siebenhirten , partially using the route of the former express tram line 64 of the Vienna tram , which previously operated on this route. At the station there is also a Park & Ride facility as well as a bus station for regional buses and, Monday to Friday at night, the collective call taxi of the N64 of Vienna's NightLine , which was replaced by the loop system of the tram until 1995.

The construction comes from Johann Georg Gsteu , who, as with the architecture of all stations of the U6 south branch, used a new deformation technology of trapezoidal aluminum sheet (the pull-in process ), which enabled the construction of undulating forms and variously shaped arches. The combination with blue glazed concrete and glass give the station a signal effect. A distinctive feature are the elevator towers, which are rounded at the top.
