The UAZ-452 ( Russian УАЗ-452 ) is a pickup truck from the Soviet / Russian manufacturer UAZ that has been built since 1965.

construction

The UAZ-452 is a small van with two axles and switchable all-wheel drive , which is built in different versions. The first version, published in 1965, is 4363 mm long, 1940 mm wide and 2064 mm high. The maximum load is 800 kg, the maximum trailer load is 850 kg. This basic structure with a closed cab and four doors (driver, front passenger, second row on the right, two-wing tailgate) has essentially been retained. Vehicle variants with flatbed or box bodies and configurations with benches for up to ten seats are now also available. A four-cylinder - petrol engine drives the vehicle via a transmission with manual transmission.

Executions

The first vehicles came on the market in 1965 as the successor to the UAZ-450 under the designation UAZ-452, equipped with the 52 kW 2.4 l in-line four-cylinder ZМZ-451 gasoline engine , which can be operated with 76 octane gasoline. The four-speed gearbox is shifted manually. A facelift followed in 1979, when the white indicators were replaced by yellow ones and the round taillights by square ones. From 1985, the UAZ-452 was equipped with a 73 kW engine and split into five different sub-models, which are still offered today. In addition, special vehicles are also in the program for authorities. A new engine with a displacement of 2.7 liters and 82 kW is now used, and the UAZ-452 has been compliant with the Euro 4 emissions standard since 2011 and is available with an anti-lock braking system , seat belts and power steering. Prices for the cheapest model were around 646,000 rubles in mid-2018. The models will also be sold with a key for the door locks and a separate ignition key in 2018. There are also practical reasons for this: you can run the engine and park and lock the vehicle - common practice at very low temperatures.

In 2018, the appearance and production of an anniversary version for the sixtieth birthday of the vehicle called “loaf of bread” (Russian “Buchanka”) was announced; the innovations included a two-tone paint job, a single key and renewed sliding windows. A heated driver's seat is also available as an option. The anniversary model also has an electrically operated differential lock on the rear axle, which is why another type of axle is used.
