The UNESCO project school is a primary school in the Neu-Schmellwitz district of Cottbus .

history

After six months of construction, the school was opened on February 28, 1994 as the “21st Primary School "opened. 19 classes with around 400 students were accommodated in initially 24 classrooms. Since it was founded, it has been an integration school ; there are joint lessons with learning and language-impaired students. Since 2002 she has been cooperating with the special school " Heinrich-Pestalozzi " for mentally handicapped children. An appointment as a recognized UNESCO project school took place on June 17, 2010.

The school is a member of the “School for Common Learning” network and teaches foreign languages, including Sorbian, from grade 1.
