The International Youth Network for the United Nations - United Nations Youth Associations Network (UNYANET) is the international network for UN youth organizations (United Nations Youth Associations - UNYAs) and the youth sections of UN societies (United Nations Associations - UNAs).

In August 2011 a meeting took place in Vienna, at which representatives of the UNYAs from Austria , Finland , Germany , Norway , Romania and Switzerland , as well as youth representatives of the UN societies from Russia , Serbia , Slovenia , Spain and Turkey in the Vienna International Center came together and founded UNYANET by adopting a charter. Since then, UNYANET has organized several events, such as a media workshop in Switzerland (2011) or a project development workshop in Turkey (2012).

General

The organization aims to develop joint projects among the member organizations, exchange information and help each other. In order to achieve these goals, members' meetings are held on the one hand, and contents are worked out in project groups on the other. Furthermore, UNYANET helps the member organizations to provide joint access to contacts to the United Nations , non-governmental organizations and other international cooperation partners and thus to form a central point of contact. Another aspect of UNYANET's work is to help interested groups to set up a UN youth organization in their country. UNYANET currently has 10 member organizations and 3 observers, with a total of 57 regional groups and around 14,000 young people. UNYANET is currently helping to set up three other organizations.

Partners include Adobe , the United Nations Information Service in Vienna (UNIS Vienna) and the United Nations Department for Public Information (UNDPI).
