USS Pennsylvania
Several US Navy ships were named USS Pennsylvania - in honor of the second state of the United States of America :
- USS Pennsylvania (1837) , was one of nine ships of the line whose construction had been approved by the US Congress in 1816; it was launched in 1837.
- A screw steamer, keeled down as Keywaden in 1863 but never launched, was renamed in Pennsylvania . (Scrapped in 1884)
- USS Pennsylvania (ACR-4) , namesake of the armored cruiser class , was renamed USS Pittsburgh (CA-4) before serving in World War I.
- USS Pennsylvania (BB-38) , namesake of the battleship class in WWI and WWII
- USS Pennsylvania (SSBN-735) , an Ohio-class submarine
