US Colomiers (soccer)

The Union Sportive de Colomiers Football or short US Colomiers is the football section of a club from the southwestern French town of Colomiers in the Haute-Garonne , of some successful rugby and basketball departments has.

The club colors are blue and white. The league team plays at the Stade Bertrand-Andrieux , which has a capacity of 1,200, and is currently being trained by William Prunier . (As of May 29, 2013)

history

The department was founded in 1932; since the mid-1980s their team played in the regional highest amateur league, the Division d'Honneur , before they rose to CFA 2 in 2007 and only one year later in the highest national amateur league CFA.

In the past, USC was able to rely on financial support from local businesses, such as one of the Airbus factories, but has also focused on promoting young talent. With Dominique Arribagé , a player emerged from the club who then played more than 470 point games in French professional football.

League affiliation

Colomiers has never had professional status and has therefore never belonged to professional Division 1 or Division 2 (since 2002: Ligue 1 / Ligue 2 ). For the 2013/14 season, USC qualified for the third division for the first time in their club's history , from which they were relegated after two years.

The US Colomiers have never reached the nationwide main round in the competition for the Coupe de France .
