US Human Rights Network
The US Human Rights Network is an American network in which various human rights activists and groups are organized. The organization is based in Atlanta .
Background and activities
The aim of the network is to strengthen the human and civil rights movement in the United States. To this end, centers have been set up in New York City and Atlanta to coordinate and support the national, state, regional and local efforts of individual activists and groups.

history
The network was founded in 2003 on the basis of an idea developed by various activists and organizations at the US Human Rights Leadership Summit in July 2002 at the Law School of Howard University to fight for human and civil rights in the United States in joint efforts . Ajamu Baraka became the network's first executive director . As a result, the approaches and activities were discussed and coordinated in national, but also federal, regional and local meetings.
In 2012, Ejim Dike Baraka followed at the head of the network before announcing his retirement in 2016 in favor of Colette Pichon Battle . In 2016, the organization had over 300 groups and over 700 individual activists as members, including the US representatives of renowned international organizations with Amnesty International and PEN .
