Uckerkanal on the Oberuckersee

The Uckerkanal , also just a canal , is part of the Ucker and is located in the Uckermark district in Brandenburg . It is of natural origin and was expanded like a canal at a later date. It connects the Oberuckersee ( beginning of the canal ) with the Unteruckersee ( canal end coordinates: 53 ° 15 ′ 5 ″  N , 13 ° 51 ′ 26 ″  E ) near Prenzlau . The canal is around 4.5 kilometers long and runs through swampy terrain and one of the largest reed areas in Germany. The Möllensee is about halfway down the canal .
