Udo Holdorf
Udo Holdorf (born July 10, 1946 in Bonn ) is a German opera singer ( tenor ).
Life
From 1966 to 1971 Udo Holdorf studied singing at the Cologne University of Music with Ellen Bosenius and Josef Metternich , and further studies led him to Francesco Carino in Düsseldorf .
During his apprenticeship he already took on smaller roles at the Bonn Opera . He made his official debut in 1971 at the Stadttheater Würzburg in the title role of Verdi's Otello . Since 1973 he sang for many years as the first hero tenor at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein Düsseldorf-Duisburg. From 1981 to 1984 and from 1986 to 1988 he played at the Bayreuth Festival as “Balthasar Zorn” in the Meistersinger .
