Udo Lindemann
Udo Lindemann (* 1948 ) is a German mechanical engineer, a retired professor since 2016.
biography
Udo Lindemann studied mechanical engineering at the University of Hanover specializing in thermal process engineering . From 1974 he worked as a scientific assistant at the Institute for Machine Elements and Hydraulic Flow Machines at the University of Hanover under K. Ehrlenspiel.
After Ehrlenspiel accepted a call to the Technical University of Munich on September 1, 1976 as head of the chair for construction technology as the successor to WG Rodenacker, he followed his doctoral supervisor to Munich and received his doctorate in 1979 on the “system-technical consideration of the construction process with special consideration of the influence on manufacturing costs Establishing the shape ”.
He then worked in the areas of construction technology, product development and control and testing systems at Renk AG in Augsburg . On April 1, 1992, he was appointed Chairman of MAN Miller Druckmaschinen GmbH with responsibility for production, logistics, quality, service, personnel and plant planning. At the parent company MAN Roland AG , product responsibility for smaller sheetfed printing machines was part of his area of responsibility.
In addition, Lindemann was involved in cost analysis working groups of the FVA in the VDMA , as a VDI-EKV representative in the VDI joint committee “Industrial System Technology (GIS)” and in the VDI committee “Methodical Design”. In addition, there were board and chairman functions of the VDI district association Augsburg and the DIN-NSM AA4 CAD standard parts file .
On October 1, 1995, Lindemann succeeded Ehrlenspiel as head of the chair for product development at the Technical University of Munich.
He is a member of the Scientific Society for Product Development and was also active in the two predecessor organizations “Berliner Kreis” and “WGMK”. He is a founding member of the Design Society and was its President from 2007 to 2010. Lindemann is a member of the program committees of international conferences and participates in editorial boards of international journals.
Lindemann is an elected member of the German Academy of Science and Engineering (Acatech) , he is also active on the advisory boards of foundations.
