Udo Rabensteiner's main work is sculptural-plastic. In between he goes on excursions into drawing and painting , preferably in black, white and gray. He uses bronze , plaster and black cement for his sculptures . After careful selection, he also makes casts in aluminum . The core object of his work is the human figure , which he often creatively alienates with abstract elements. When designing his sculptures, Rabensteiner is not concerned with meticulous naturalistic rendering, but rather with creating works that arise from emotion and the existential. Rabensteiner feels obliged to European culture, but does not want to lapse into academicism or kitsch. Some of his works revolve around the theme of "tortured human existence", others around "skinning" or the pursuit of liberation. They successfully capture a mood or sketch existential dramas or are simply well-composed forms that look beautiful and exciting from every perspective. Udo Rabensteiner's style changed over the years from figurative to abstract, then to a fusion of figure and abstraction. His guiding principle is: "Architecture is man and man is architecture". Udo Rabensteiner's work covers a broad spectrum: modern art, sacred art, bronze portraits as well as monuments in bronze or sandstone such as the euthanasia memorial in the city of Hohenems. His works are in numerous collections in Germany and abroad.
