Ugo Abbondanza

Ugo Abbondanza (March 5, 1893 , † after 1943 ) was an Italian brigadier general .

Life

Abbondanza completed an officer training after attending school and found various uses as an officer in the army ( Esercito Italiano ) . On October 13, 1943 he was promoted to colonel (Colonnello) and between 1938 and 1939 he took over the post of commander of the 66th “ Veltliner ” motorized infantry regiment (66º Reggimento fanteria motorizzata “Valtellina”) . In 1942 he succeeded Colonel Carlo Biglioni as commander of the Central Infantry School and held this post until he was replaced by Brigadier General Francesco Montagna in 1943.

After Abbondanza had been promoted to Brigadier General (Generale di Brigata) on November 5, 1942 , he took over the post in 1943 as commander of the infantry troops of the 11th " Brenner " Infantry Division (11ª Divisione fanteria "Brennero") . He held this post until he was replaced by Brigadier General Augusto Caretta and was then seconded to the 5th Army (5ª Armata) on September 5, 1943 .
