Ugo Novello

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ugo Novello (born August 10, 1931 in Mestre ) is an Italian filmmaker.

Life

Novello got enthusiastic about the film early and worked as an amateur since the early 1950s. Ten years later he had entered the professional film industry and worked in numerous roles on cinema films - sometimes as an actor, often as a production manager, but also as an assistant director and production secretary. Towards the end of the decade, his duties took him to the sets of numerous films by the new generation of directors such as Marco Bellocchio , Salvatore Samperi and Maurizio Liverani , whose influence can be felt in his directorial debut from 1972, based on his own script: Testa in giù ... gambe in aria , which remained without much response and remained his only work. Until 1980 Novello worked again as an assistant director; even later he shot short technical and scientific documentaries.
