Uhland-Bad in Tübingen

The Uhlandbad is the first indoor swimming pool in Tübingen , which was inaugurated in July 1914 and is still in operation today. It is centrally located on Karlstrasse , near the Eberhardsbrücke on the Neckar . Despite its historical character, it has a modern interior.

The construction of the baths began in 1913 under the Tübingen city building officer Haug. When it was inaugurated, it was already heated by a district heating pipe that was very innovative for the time, through a gasworks 1.6 km away. In 1919 an electric light bath was set up.
