Ukhrul is a place in the state of Manipur in northeast India . It is the administrative seat of the Ukhrul district . Ukhrul is located in the mountains in the northeast of Manipur around 80 kilometers northeast of Manipur's capital Imphal . The place extends in a north-south direction on a ridge and is at an altitude of 1,800 meters.

The area of ​​Ukhrul is inhabited by the Tangkhul , a Naga tribe. Most of the residents are Christians .
