57 players took part in the tournament. The game was initially played in the double knockout system and from the round of 16 onwards in the knockout system . The eight best players on the national rankings were seeded in the round of 16 and met the eight qualified players from the preliminary round. The goal was four competitions in the preliminary round, five competitions from the round of 16 to the semi-finals and six competitions in the final.
Both finalists were among the eight players seeded in the round of 16, with number one seeded Andrij Kljestow and number six Bohdan Schuhalej . While Klyestov had previously won the Ukrainian championship four times, including one ( 2018 ) in the Combined Pyramid, Shuhalej was in the final of a Ukrainian championship for the first time, and he had achieved his best result at national level in 2019 when he played against in the semi-finals of the Dynamic Pyramid Klyestov left.
The better start in the final of the two 22-year-olds succeeded Kljestow, who won the first game. Then Schuhalej turned the game to a 2-1 lead before Kljestow won three games in a row and led 4-2. Once again Schuhalej managed to equalize, but Kljestow finally won the following two games and was Ukrainian champion for the fifth time and in the combined pyramid for the second time.

In the final, the former world champion of the free pyramid Marija Pudowkina met 15-year-old Jana Wassylowa . Neither of the two finalists had previously won the national championship in the combined pyramid. While the 24-year-old Pudovkina was in this discipline for the third time after 2012 and 2015 and had already become Ukrainian champion four times in other disciplines, Wassylowa had never got past fifth place before.
The final turned out to be very balanced. Wassylowa took the lead three times with one point, and Pudowkina always equalized. In the playoff, Wassylowa prevailed 8: 7 and was the first Ukrainian champion.
