Ulf Fiedler (* 1930 in Blumenthal ( Blumenthal district )) is a Rönnebeck local historian, writer and painter who writes novels and plays, local history and biographical essays.

biography

In his parents' house in Blumenthal he got to know the works of the classical period, at the age of twelve he started to paint. He attended art school and completed a craft apprenticeship. For the longest part of his career, however, he worked as a vocational school teacher at the Alwin-Lonke-Strasse school in Grambke , where he taught the subjects of art history, color theory and graphics.

In addition to his job, Fiedler works as an author. In two novels he worked on his memories of childhood in the 1930s and the war. In a local history book he portrays the districts, landscapes and historical personalities of the north of Bremen, especially the north German writers and poets, whom he portrayed in another book. From Tami Oelfken to Hermann Allmers and especially Manfred Hausmann , with whom he had a friendship because in his early novels he described the atmosphere of the Wandervogel movement, with which Fiedler also feels connected.

Fiedler has written and staged five plays so far. He painted the backdrops himself - not only an artistic activity, but also a physical effort due to the size of the painting surfaces. The latest piece has been performed in Haus Blomendal since March 2009 . The play is about the tensions between cosmopolitan artists and down-to-earth locals in Worpswede .

The influence of the Worpswede painting school can also be seen in Fiedler's pictures: the northern German landscapes are his favorite subject. But he also painted in Mediterranean countries while on vacation and used the stronger colors and light contrasts of the south.

In his lectures, Fiedler has demonstrated extensive knowledge of literature and art history in the north of Bremen. In addition, there is a large number of concert and exhibition reviews and participation in Low German radio broadcasts on Radio Bremen . He is currently working on a theater version of Fontane's novel Effi Briest .
