Ulf Hashagen (* 1961 ) is a German science and technology historian.

Hashagen studied mathematics, physics and computer science at the University of Marburg and the University of Göttingen , where he obtained his mathematics diploma in 1989. He was then a member of the graduate college "Interrelationships between Science and Technology" at the Deutsches Museum in Munich and received his doctorate in the history of natural sciences at the University of Munich . From 1993 to 2000 he was curator and head of the main scientific department (computing devices, computers, mathematics) at the Heinz Nixdorf Museumsforum in Paderborn , where he was jointly responsible for the scientific conception and construction of the permanent exhibition on the cultural and technological history of information and communication technology. From 2001 to 2011, Hashagen was a research associate at the Research Institute for the History of Technology and Science at the Deutsches Museum. Since 2011 he has headed the Research Institute for the History of Technology and Science at the Deutsches Museum. He is also a private lecturer in the history of science and technology at the University of Munich.

He is primarily concerned with the history of mathematics and computer science in the 19th and 20th centuries, but also with the development of the German science system and the history of technical universities. Another area of ​​work is the history of scientific and technical artifacts.
